Industrial valves in process technology are automated with AUMA electric actuators, serving as the crucial link between the valve and the distributed control system.

The AUMA Assistant App allows for flexible and rapid actuator setup and configuration via modern notebooks or smartphones, leading to time and cost savings during commissioning and maintenance. The app provides comprehensive configuration and diagnostics features in a user-friendly manner. Actuator connection is facilitated through the Bluetooth interface (when available on the actuator). The upcoming objective is to expand the communication interface for iOS to include TIGRON and AUMATIC Generation 2, set to be accomplished in the coming months.

The app offers a convenient option to upload actuator data to the AUMA Cloud, enabling efficient, expert, and customer-centric service. Through Bluetooth, users can access detailed service and device data of their actuators and upload this information to the AUMA Cloud in snapshot files. Subsequently, the data undergoes partial automatic analysis, sorting, and organization as needed.

To enhance security against unauthorized access, AUMA user levels and authorizations are now managed through the established AUMA User Management System.

The AUMA Assistant App (Version 5.0) is designed for commissioning, operation, and parameterization on smartphones and tablets for PROFOX actuators (firmware version 01.02.03 onwards) with features that include:

• Connection via Bluetooth
• Rapid Bluetooth data transfer
• Automatic update notifications via the App Store (if online connection available)
• Quick display of fault and warning statuses (NAMUR or AUMA categories)
• Immediate access to major actuator information
• Downloads of actuator documents: Technical data sheet, operation instructions, inspection certificate, wiring diagram
• Configuration parameter indication and modification
• Online connection to AUMA Cloud with automated login to AUMA account having offline rights for 30 days (post-registration with AUMA account)
• Reading and transmission of timestamped operational and device data snapshots of actuators to the AUMA Cloud along with clear actuator presentation and partial automation for sorting and analysis within the AUMA Cloud
• Reading and transmission of snapshots via email directly to AUMA Service for remote diagnostics by experienced service professionals
• Data matrix code scanning on nameplates for basic device information recording (e.g., serial numbers of AUMA devices)
• Serial number list transfer to AUMA Cloud with apparent actuator display and partially automated sorting
• Multiple language options available

The available functions are contingent upon the user level and may encompass remote actuator control for commissioning procedures and end position settings.
